Born in Thalikottai Village

Situated in Central Tamil Nadu, one can reach Thalikkottai travelling on the Pattukottai Highway from Mannargudi in the Tanjore district via Sundarakkottai, Paravakkottai and also on the parallel Mannargudi-Vadaserry road. Upon reaching Ullikkottai, on that road, take turn right and go 1500 meters west to reach Mahadevanpattinam. There was a fort called “Umachchikottai”. It is said that a tunnel leads from the Tanjore Palace to this fort. Remnants of the ruined fort can still be seen there. Oomachikottai occupied an area of 50 acres. Thalikottai, the native village of T.R.Baalu is adjacent to Mahadevanpattinam.
